Zira and her twin sister Ziria are the identical daughters of green Balmaith's rider, Eiriana, at Xanadu Weyr. While there is some debate as to whether they were the result of Balmaith's flight, or merely other dalliances, there is no doubt as to them belonging to L'ton.

While they spend the majority of their time at Xanadu, they occasionally will spend time at Eiriana's family's holding along with their multitudes of female cousins.
